Creation of the endeavoreu.com website
The ENDEAVOR website is our main source of information for both researchers and patients. In order to make it accessible to both groups, the content of the website was proofed by ENDEAVOR researcher and the UZA PPI committee. For example, one of the PPI requests was to make the Research information more understandable and write it in layman's terms. Therefore, the Research content was split up in two sections: ‘For researchers’ and ‘For patients’.
Input on the design of the project to minimize patient burden and maximize relevant output
The ENDEAVOR PPI panel was created in May-June 2024, with its first meeting in September 2024. At this time, the consortium was actively working on the design and launch of the pilot study (part one of two in the ENDEAVOR project), enabling co-creation and relevant patient-input from the start of the project. For example, the PPI Committee gave feedback on the type and number of questionnaires to be used in the project. Considering this feedback, the consortium decided to use only the two most relevant questionnaires for this project (EQ-5D-DL and the Cancer Worry Scale) in order to minimize patient burden in the trial.
Input on the design of digital applications in the project
Both for the preparatory pilot study and the larger follow-up study (Randomized Controlled Trial), ENDEAVOR uses an app that enables participants to complete questionnaires from the comfort of their own home. The app used in both clinical studies, was specifically designed for ENDEAVOR by our industrial partner TRIALL (CDMP). To ensure that participants can easily navigate the app, the PPI Committee gave feedback during the various stages of app development. For example, one of the PPI Committee members indicated that adding a progress bar, to show how many questions have already been answered and how many are still to come, could be a good idea. This suggestion was incorporated into the final app design.
